ALEXA HOEKSTRA
Head Coach
​Alexa is currently a junior at Texas Woman’s University where she is majoring in political science. She has worked as an assistant coach for the last 3 summers with the Bedford Surf swim team and is now excited to be taking the reins as head coach. She graduated from LD Bell High School with an IB diploma, and when she isn’t coaching swim she enjoys attending concerts and hanging out with her family. Alexa is super excited to be working with all of the swimmers and is looking forward to a great summer!
JESSICA JAMIESON
Assistant Coach
Jessica has had a passion for swimming for as long as she can remember. She swam competitively on the LD Bell varsity swim team for all four years of high school and was given the opportunity to be the captain for her senior year. She graduated this past spring and has moved on to new and exciting endeavors at the University of Texas at Austin as an athlete on the rowing team. However, her love for swimming brings her back to her roots as she returns for her third year of coaching for Surf. She is very ready for this summer season and can’t wait to meet everyone

HENRY JAX
Assistant Coach
From Henry’s beginnings in swim, he started at Bedford Surf. Thereafter, he worked to pursue his love of the water at L.D. Bell High, where he would become a varsity member and letter freshman year. Throughout high school and into college he stays active in music, school, and work- but always comes back to swimming with enthusiasm and tenacity to improve. He loves working with kids and has experience teaching both swimming and music. He currently studies Music Composition at UNT; frequenting the rec pool for a dose of chlorine
ALYSSA TUAPEN
Assistant Coach
Alyssa is a second-year business student at the University of Texas at Austin, and she graduated from L D Bell High School, where she swam for the varsity team. She swam competitively for 9 years before starting college, and she is super excited to join Bedford Surf as a coach this summer and meet the team!
